Great Ocean Road Cycling (GORC) is a cycling group that draws members from Anglesea to Apollo Bay. We enjoy semi-formal bunch rides along the Great Ocean Road. Our standard ride commences from Anglesea at 7am on Saturday and Sunday and collects riders along the way. We ride out to Cape Patton and return, always stopping at Wye River for coffee. On most long weekends and over summer, we enjoy longer rides, taking in Deans Marsh, Forrest, Beach Forrest and Lavers Hill.
You may have come across us on the road. Hopefully you had a good experience. We do pride ourselves on being courteous to all road users and ensuring we can all enjoy the Great Ocean Road together.
We run an annual cycling event that is for teams of 6 cyclists, departing the Lorne Surf Club Carpark at 2 min intervals and travelling around the Amy Gillet Gran Fondo Loop, either in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction, depending on the teams estimated finishing time and handicap. This will the 9thrunning of the event. The past 2 years we have formalised the event with the Surf Coast Shire, Colac & Otway Shire Councils and Vicroads.
We are very keen to ensure the community are well engaged and are aware of the event. If you have any other questions regarding the event, feel free to contact me on 0409 408 568. We greatly appreciate your support in this matter.
