Run For The Marsh 2017 – Sponsorship Information
Following on from the success of Run for The Marsh 2016, The Deans Marsh Community Cottage is delighted to announce that the event will be run again in 2017. The overwhelming feedback from the community was that this was a fantastic inclusive event that the whole family could enjoy.
Over 140 local men, women & kids registered for the 2016 event. With organisers, volunteers, friends and supporters, we estimate that close to 200 people were in attendance on the day.
This year, the event will be held slightly later on Sunday 19th November and will be combined with the Frogwood Arboretum Family Picnic / Open Day. The idea is that the running events will be held first thing in the morning and families will then be encouraged to stay, enjoy and picnic in the beautiful surrounds at Frogwood. Other post event activities will also be included at The Cottage & at Frogwood Arboretum.
Now that we know how the event works, we plan to make it bigger and better this year. We will be aiming for 200 registrations. We plan to increase the pre & post event activities and hope to raise even more funds for local community groups.
Of course we will be encouraging everyone in the community to register for the event and join in the fun. The day is about promoting physical and mental wellbeing through community connectivity.
We will again also be asking for event day volunteers and marshals. There will also be an opportunity for local businesses to have stalls at The Cottage site on the day. Please contact The Cottage Coordinator if you would like to be involved in this way.

How can you get involved?
- Would you like to become a Major Sponsor? For a donation of over $500 you will get your company logo printed on all the event marketing materials including posters, banners, postcards and event t-shirts.
- Would you like to become a Regular Sponsor? For donations up to $500 you will acknowledged on our Event Day sponsors board. You will also be acknowledged on the day by our MC and also on our website and social media. Yes, we have a Facebook Page – check us out. We also have event registration software which means we can communicate efficiently and directly with participants.
- Would you like to donate goods or services as prizes? We would love to offer meals, accommodation and other goodies from local businesses as prizes. Do you have something you would like to donate? These prizes will be advertised widely in the run up to the event.
- Would you like to provide vouchers and discounts for event participants? Last year we trialled a virtual event bag for participants’. We would like to explore the idea further, offering event participants discounts at local food & beverage outlets, recreation activities and retail outlets. A big thanks to last years contributors – The Store who offered everyone a free coffee and Brie’s Massage for offering massage discounts.
