Deans Marsh Community Hall and Memorial Reserve Community Asset Committee

This proactive Committee of friendly, local, volunteer members manages the community hall and reserve; including playground, skate park, BMX Track and surrounding buildings. It is responsible for the planning, promotion and co-ordination of these facilities on behalf of Surf Coast Shire Council. Enquire about becoming a member.

Grow Make Gather

Grow Make Gather organise community gatherings in which to connect and share our wisdom on all things food, herbs and plants. 

They are also responsible for the Grow Free Pantry at the Deans Marsh Community Cottage to provide a space for Deans Marsh and district to swap and access locally grown produce.

East Otway Landcare Group

The East Otway Landcare group was formed when members of the local community wanted to be involved in “on-ground” works. They were concerned about environmental issues that they could see in the Deans Marsh, Pennyroyal and Bambra areas.

In 1993 two progressive trees groups in the Otway region, got together and applied for a Federal grant to set up a Farm Forestry project in the area. We could see the need for trees for a variety of reasons – so why not incorporate commercial trees in our landcare projects. Our application was successful and the Otway Agroforestry Network was born.
