PowerMaD – Renewable Energy for Marsh & District

PowerMaD – Renewable Energy for Marsh & District

The Deans Marsh and District Community Action Plan (MaDCAP) includes a number of climate change mitigation and adaptation actions. One of these actions is “to become 100% off grid, independent and self-reliant using renewable energy sources.”

To progress this action, the PowerMaD project aims to identify practical ways to achieve 100% renewables across Deans Marsh and District.

To support the project, a community facilitator and a renewable energy systems expert will be engaged with funding from the Victorian Government’s New Energy Jobs Fund (Round 6) and Surf Coast Shire council, supported by the Deans Marsh Cottage.

All Marsh and District community members are invited to participate. You can get involved by:
– joining the PowerMaD Working Group by contacting the Caroline at the [email protected] and attending the first meeting on Tuesday 11 April, from 6pm – 7pm in the Deans Marsh Community Hall; AND / OR
– by sharing your thoughts during community consultation session in the coming months – details to be provided.

In the first working Group meeting Surf Coast Shire Sustainability Officer, Adrian Ford will lead the group to decide on a facilitator and consultant for this exciting community project.

We look forward to hearing from those who wish to be involved in this exciting project.
Further updates will be provided through the Cottage newsletter & Croaker over the months to come.
