Thank you to everyone who braved the cold, damp conditions on Sunday morning to join others in their community for the first Deans Marsh community fun run.
What a fantstic day we had. 155 people registered for the event and turned up with big smiles and clean clothes. The smiles were still there at the end of the morning, but I’m afraid the clothes did not remain so clean.
We had people registered from age 1 to age 70, from across Deans Marsh, Bambra, Winchelsea, Birregurra, Lorne, Colac, Torquay, Timboon & Geelong.
Thank you to FRRR / Gardiner Foundation & Lorne Community Hospital for sponsoring this amazing event to promote physical & mental wellbing in our community. A huge thanks to to James Maund from Frogwood Arboretum for providing the stunning venue.
Congratulations to everyone who crossed the line – it wasn’t about winning, it was about taking part & having fun. However, we must give special mention to Michael Mackenzie, Emily Morden, Drew Smith & Camryn Smith who did indeed cross the line first in their events.
The feedback we are getting is that you all loved the event, particularly the MUD. We are getting the sense that people would like this to be an annual event, so stay tuned for news on that.
I think the pictures tell the rest of the tale……….
